Workflow screencasts

Here are two screencasts showing how you can use tarpipe’s workflow design interface to connect multiple services together and share information across the Web.

The first one is about using tarpipe to automatically tag screenshots using Evernote’s recognition feature. Quoting the article “Evernote Integration Spotlight: Tarpipe“:

The Tarpipe/Evernote integration allows you to add content into your Evernote account, as well as automatically extract content, such as recognition data and URLs to public notes, which can then be shared with other supported services.

The second one was created by Benjamin Mestrallet and it’s about integrating eXo Platform WebOS with tarpipe, letting you share pictures automatically on services like flickr and twitter. Quoting the article “Mashups: Publish from eXo ECM to the consumer web with TarPipe“:

More and more eXo customers want to leverage consumer sites like Flickr, Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, SlidesShare, FriendFeed to promote new products or corporate messages.

The identi.ca connector

By popular demand, we’ve just released the identi.ca connector, letting you share information on this growing service. To start using it, just go to the accounts tab and insert your identi.ca username and password on the appropriate fields.

The tarpipe identi.ca connector

You can use it directly from the share form or by adding it to any new or existing workflow. It works in much the same way as the already supported twitter connector, having a required title input and an optional url input which is added to the message being posted. We’ll be also supporting publishing to any identi.ca federated service anytime soon.

So, what other connectors would you like to use? Let us know by leaving a comment.

Sharing from within tarpipe

We’ve been testing a new feature that lets you share content without the need to previously create a workflow. Even better than that, it lets you publish content on multiple social media destinations from a simple to use form.

tarpipe share form

I’m talking about the share form that’s available directly from your activity tab. To use this form, just click on the share link and start typing something. Most services only use the Body field but, for services like Tumblr or Friendfeed, you can also have a title and a link.

Right now we’ve only enabled the sharing of text based information because we first want to receive your feedback about the usage of the share form. Give it a try, we think it’s really simple to use!
